Digital Transformation is an elective course that aims to introduce students to the concept and content of the ongoing change that takes place in the organizations, due to introduction of cutting-edge digital technologies. Moreover, it introduces students to the basic concepts and theories of e-business and e-government. After the end of this course students will be able to:

  • Define digital transformation, e-business, and e-government concepts.
  • Describe the changes that occur in the organization's value chain due to the digital technologies.
  • Distinguish cutting-edge technologies that contribute to digital transformation.
  • Design different business models of e-business.
  • Synthesize the e-government’s public value.
  • Apply e-business and e-government techniques.

The course aims at the following:

• Adaptation to new situations and specifically to the accounting standards applied at any given time

• Decision making based on the analysis and interpretation of the respective financial statements

• Autonomous work with the recording of accounting events and other accounting tasks

• Teamwork regarding the selection and adoption of appropriate accounting methods in each case

  • Blockchain and its role in secure transactions
  • E-government: the transformation of the public sector, digital services, digital business models
  • Intelligent governance architecture
