  1.            PURPOSE

Traditional project management approaches emphasize the initial design and recording of a project requirement as well as the standard design and implementation processes in general. However, a prerequisite for the good operation of this working model is a stable business environment and the knowledge of the detailed requirements of the project at the beginning of it.On the contrary, agile project management is the modern alternative approach, with great international acceptance, which approaches projects from a point of view that emphasizes continuous change, flexibility, rapid project completion and self-organization. The aim of the course is to introduce students to this new approach to project management, which requires the adoption of a different perspective that emphasizes:

• in people and interactions rather than processes and the use of tools,

• in the final deliverable of the project (eg software) that works and not in the extensive documentation,

• in working with the client instead of continuing to negotiate with him, and

• in adopting the change instead of strictly adhering to a prescribed plan
